AVON, Colorado – Avon police are hosting a dodge ball tournament Saturday to help stock the Salvation Army’s food pantry in Eagle County. The tournament will take place at Avon Elementary School at 11 a.m.

Teams will have six to eight players. If you don’t have a team but would still like to get in on the action, we will add you to another team.

Each team is asked to donate 20 total non-perishable food items, canned food such as vegetables, fruit, tuna fish, soups, pastas, rice and beans. Teams can register at Avon Elementary School between 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

The Avon Police Department will be competing against other public safety agencies in Eagle County to include: Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Police Department, Eagle River Fire Protection District and the Vail Police Department to see who can collect the most food.
