Dog complaints have increased

Daily Staff Report

EAGLE COUNTY – The county’s trails agency has been receiving increased complaints about unleashed dogs and dog waste along sections of recreation path, most particularly in the Edwards area.Eagle County law requires dogs be under “control,” which includes leashing them or being within 10 feet of the owner and under voice control. Uncontrolled dogs can create problems for other dog owners who have their pets leashed, for people trying to ride bicycles, or for adults and children who are uncomfortable around unleashed pets, said Elie Caryl, director of ECO trails. Additionally, dogs should be cleaned up after at all times in the interest of public enjoyment of the trail and public health, Caryl added. Vail, Colorado
