Dogma Athletica in Edwards offers Morning Vitality Retreats
May 7, 2012
On Saturday, you can get away without having to go away. Dogma Athletica is holding the first in a series of Morning Vitality Retreats. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a healthy and stress relieving morning. But it also is unique in that it gives participants a working understanding of functional strength training, circuit training for increasing metabolism and leaning out, yoga and meditation. Participants will also gain knowledge on fueling and recovery for their activities and leave with a healthy clean eating nutrition plan.
“This is wonderful for someone looking for practice and understanding on many facets of health and wellness,” says Dogma Athletica owner Rod Connolly. “People get to experience it in a very small group setting with lots of support and instruction and they also get to leave with information so they can incorporate these techniques into their daily lives.”
This retreat will be open to only six participants for a high instructor to participant ratio and will be led by Connolly, Dogma Athletica trainer Curt Nash, and Dogma yoga instructor Katie McDonald. Designed to energize, fortify, and balance body and mind, the half day retreats are choreographed to bring together meditation, yoga, cardiovascular circuit exercise, strength training and nutrition. Five sessions will be offered monthly from May through September; they can be taken independently or as a series. This is great way to spring into the summer months with the introductory Morning Vitality Retreat session; a perfect Mother’s Day gift or jump start for the warmer month’s outdoor activities.
This program is appropriate for all levels, including those new to yoga, cardiovascular and strength training. The $175 cost includes guided exercise programs, equipment needs, healthy snacks, and simple and nutritious recipes, and a take-home nutrition plan. Participants will also receive discounts on a healthy post workout lunch at one of Edwards’ local restaurants, Eat Drink, where they can receive more information from the Dogma instructors while relaxing on the patio.
Participants will also receive great discounts on Lululemon clothing, and a special offer for a discounted custom facial at In Your Face, Dogma’s in-house Skin Fitness Studio.
Curt Nash has been personal training for over 20 years and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He loves working with all people, all ages and all abilities. Katie McDonald is a certified yoga instructor, and teaches regular weekly classes at Dogma Athletica. She is a lifelong student of yoga asana, meditation, and philosophy. Both of these instructors bring a compassionate yet challenging nature to their practices, and have experience in working with athletes of every level and ability.
