Dogma hosts two yoga workshops this week
With so much happening this August, why not take some time to slow down and reconnect with the things that are most important to you?
Yoga is one avenue in which to do this, and Dogma Athletica is offering two workshop opportunities for visitors and locals this week at their yoga studio in Edwards.
First, Geri Bleier will lead a 2-hour workshop on Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. Bleier lived in the Vail Valley for a time before making her way to Chicago. She has cultivated a reputation for herself over the years as a “teacher’s teacher,” meaning she has trained with hundreds of instructors and incorporates the best of each discipline in her classes.
It has been six years since Bleier has taught in the Valley, and many of Vail’s instructors will be in attendance to welcome her back. Expect to mold your body into an optimal postural shape during this workshop, creating more space, power and energy within — perfect for getting the kids back to school or adjusting to seasonal changes. She will help you strengthen, stretch and sweat, closing the workshop with a short meditation.
Then, start your weekend right with a 90-minute workshop hosted by Valerie D’Ambrosio. Expect a focused practice based on the idea of empowerment. There are many ways people give their power away — work, partnerships, or long-standing internal wounds, just to name a few. D’Ambrosio believes awareness is the first step to getting your power back, and a yoga mat is one place to practice this.

Her workshop is scheduled from 5:30-7 p.m. on Friday. This intentionally deep practice will explore the ways we give our power away and cultivate a greater, more authentic connection with ourselves.
Some yoga experience is recommended for attendees of both workshops. The cost for each workshop is $35 to the public and $25 for Dogma Athletica members. A special discounted rate of $15 will be extended to teachers. Please register in advance by calling 970-688-4433 or emailing samanthadogma@gmail.com.
