Donald Paul Sours, 1958-2009
Donald Paul Sours, 51, died June 2, from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident in Ignacio, Colo.
Don was born April 22, 1958, in Loveland, to Paul and Louise Sours. He graduated from high school in Gypsum, and attended college in Sterling.
Don worked in the coal mines, on ranches, and eventually made a career in the oil and gas industry. Don enjoyed camping, horseback riding, fishing, and hunting. He cherished moments spent with his family and friends, and was truly a proud husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Vienna S. Sours, of Ignacio; sons Jeremy Sours, of Aztec, N.M., Tracy Sours, of Ignacio, and Rusty Sours, of Ignacio, CO; grandchildren Dalton Davis, Tayler Sours, Kale Sours, Hayden Sours and Cainin Sours; sisters Beth Dunn, of Silt, and Pauline Haas, of Silt; brother Doug Sours, of Delta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Greg Dunn, and his sister-in-law, Candy Sours.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Pine River Valley Baptist Church in Ignacio. Burial will occur at the Divide Creek Cemetery in Silt.
A survey showed a good bit of support for local government action to bolster workforce housing in town. For now though, that support stops at supporting a new tax for funding.
