Donovan to host town hall meetings
VAIL — State Sen. Kerry Donovan, D-Vail, along with state budget experts, will host several weekend town hall discussions focused on Colorado’s Taxpayer Bill of Rights, or TABOR, amendment to the state constitution. The state budget experts are Carol Hedges and Chris Stiffler from the Colorado Fiscal Institute.
‘Refresh Coloradans’ Memories’
“Although Colorado’s economy has stabilized and our unemployment rate is lower than other states, too many families in the high country are still struggling to feel the economic recovery in their communities,” Donovan said. “The goal of these non-partisan information sessions is to refresh Coloradans’ memories of the 20-year old TABOR law and how potential refunds may impact communities and the state.
“I’m looking forward to the Colorado Fiscal Institute bringing their wealth of knowledge on this topic to Western Colorado.”
Here’s the schedule for the meetings:
Community members are encouraged to attend and engage in a dialogue, ask questions and share ideas on how to move Colorado forward. All town hall meetings are free, nonpartisan and open to the public.
