Dotsero man arrested on drug charges
EAGLE ” An illegal immigrant who lives in Dotsero was arrested on drug charges last month after local residents said he was dealing cocaine, authorities say.
Josue Roberto Delgado, 31, was arrested Jan. 23 after an investigation by the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and the regional Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team.
Authorities found Delgado in a car in the Eagle area, said Capt. Bill Kaufman of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. He had marijuana and a fake driver’s license from Mexico, Kaufman said.
After Delgado was taken to the county jail, authorities found three packages of cocaine on him, Kaufman said.
Delgado was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, criminal impersonation, possession of a forged instrument, first-degree introduction of contraband into a detention facility and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, Kaufman said.
The investigation started after “concerned citizens” told authorities that Delgado was dealing large quantities of cocaine, Kaufman said.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on Delgado, Kaufman said.
