Dowd Junction bike path closed

Daily Staff Report
The West Vail to Dowd Junction bike path is closed for the winter to allow for deer to migrate through a tunnel under I-70. This colorful tarp is put up in the spring also to encourage the deer to travel below the highway.

Gates have been used to indicate the path’s closure and signs have been posted explaining the requirement. The path will reopen in the spring at the direction of the Division of Wildlife.

Additionally, the Vail Pass recreation path has closed for the winter season and also will reopen in the spring.
