Dowd Junction rec path opens Friday in Vail Valley
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The Dowd Junction recreation path in Colorado’s Vail Valley will reopen for the summer on Friday. Town crews are currently clearing the path and installing a wildlife protection screen that allows for continued use of the path while deer are migrating through the area.
Crews also are preparing to open the recreation path from Sunburst Drive to East Vail by April 23. Other sections of rec path within Vail that are not maintained in winter will reopen as conditions allow, with all paths expected to be cleared by early May.
The Vail Pass recreation path, which is maintained by the Colorado Department of Transportation, is scheduled to open by mid May, weather permitting.
