Dressy Bessy to join B-52s in Vail

Special to the DailyDenver indie rockers Dressy Bessy will do their best to rock the socks off attendees at theB-52s concert Sunday, band leader Tammy Ealom said.

VAIL Denvers indie-pop rockers Dressy Bessy will get the summers ultimate party started Sunday at 7 p.m. when they join the B-52s at Ford Amphitheater.Dressy Bessy is about power-pop chords, thundering rhythm and over-the-top vocals of Tammy Ealom. Her compelling and witty lyrics hug the infectious melodies with true MODness. We are influenced by some of the 60s bands our folks grew up with, explained the group, like The Kinks, Beatles, Monkees and so forth, then add some hard rock like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, then the groove of R&B like Sly And The Family Stone and the Jackson 5.Considering the band is rooted in the live experience, it is no coincidence that the impetus for the music is spontaneity and surprises. When audiences experience Dressy Bessy in a live setting, the atmosphere is party central and the music is relentless.Well rock the socks off anyone with an hour to spare, Ealom said. Both the band and the fans walk away sweaty and happy.Dressy Bessy is a major force on the Denver music scene where a panel of 70 critics voted the band the Top Underground Band in Colorado in a 2004 Denver Post survey. The bands unscripted performances make for unpredictable and euphoric experiences.

We live in a world where upbeat pop, groove and rock n roll reign supreme, Ealom said. Were always pushing forward; what else is there to do? Hopefully, in the end, the world will be a better place. But you can always find us, just follow the trail of smiles.Tickets for the B-52s and Dressy Bessy are available at the Ford Amphitheater or Vilar Center box offices.
