AVON — WinterWonderGrass Festival is celebrating the official “Road to WonderGrass” with a special show Thursday night at Agave in Avon. Join Drew Emmitt from Leftover Salmon and friends Jake Wolf, Eric Martinez and Jonathan Meadows along with Colorado favorites, Bonfire Dub featuring Bridget Law from Elephant Revival for a spirited gathering of music.
WinterWonderGrass will be giving away a pair of tickets as well as selling merchandise and event tickets with no fees.
Emmitt is one of the founding members of the Colorado bluegrass band, Leftover Salmon as well as being the front man of the Left Hand String Band, Drew Emmitt Band and the Emmitt-Nershi Band. Emmitt is returning to Agave for a night of sweltering bluegrass and raucous jams hosting special guests and musical collaborations.
Co-billing the night is Colorado based rootsy folk-reggae band, Bonfire Dub. Bonfire Dub has a unique and soulful sound, performing songs that take you on a journey through its colorful storytelling lyrics. Bonfire Dub plays a deep and powerful blend of roots music, combining down tempo, acoustic-laced reggae and dub. The band features Bridget Law from Elephant Revival on fiddle and vocals, complementing the bands authentic sound.
Scotty Stoughton the founder of WinterWonderGrass Festival and lead singer of Bonfire Dub is very passionate about creating his music through the connection of community.
“It’s such an honor sharing and performing on the same stage as some of the acts I’m fortunate enough to produce,” he said. “I give absolute respect to every artist who is dedicated to brining their musical craft to the hungry fans. WinterWonderGrass Festival is hosting its third annual music, mountains and brew festival at Nottingham Park in Avon, Feb. 20-22, featuring over 19 bands, 16 Colorado Craft Breweries, local food vendors and artisans. WinterWonderGrass tickets and merchandise will be on-sale at Agave during the show with no service fees.
