EDWARDS — Hop lovers, listen up. It’s time again to Drink Beer for Charity. Bighorn Toyota and Ski Country have partnered with Crazy Mountain Brewery for the fourth annual Bighorn Toyota Ski Country Brew — Drink Beer for Charity promotion, which will feature a specially brewed beer, dubbed Ski Country Extra Pale Ale from Crazy Mountain Brewery, for sale at liquor stores in Eagle and Summit counties throughout December. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the beer will be donated to the Salvation Army Vail Valley and Summit Cares.

SUPPORTING SALVATION ARMY AND SUMMIT CARES

This is Crazy Mountain’s third year in a row brewing this Extra Pale Ale to benefit the Salvation Army, according to brewery co-owner Marisa Selvy.

“We continue to support this charity specifically because we feel very strongly about making sure families in need get food over the holiday season,” she said. “Food is one of the most basic human needs, so this cause is one of the most important in the Vail Valley. Going to bed hungry is something that nobody should have to experience, so Crazy Mountain is doing what we can to help raise money for the Salvation Army to stock their food bank this holiday season.”

Crazy Mountain Brewery in Edwards will host a kick-off party from 6 to 8 p.m. today for the Ski Country Brew promotion. Tickets are $15 and include a plate of Nicky’s Quickie Mediterranean food and two pints of the Bighorn Toyota Ski Country Brew. Every penny from the party will go to Salvation Army Vail and Summit Cares.

“Thursday’s launch party at Crazy Mountain will be a great kickoff to this fundraiser where you can drink great beer to raise money for your local Salvation Army chapter. Cheers for charity!” Selvy said

Party-goers will also enjoy free live music from the Harris & Lee Band and can enter to win a pair tickets to the Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean show in August and a pair of four-day general admission tickets to Country Jam 2015 in June.

The Ski Country Extra Pale Ale is an easy-drinking beer that features a light, golden malty backbone with a citrus aroma.

‘VERY DRINKABLE PALE ALE’

“This very drinkable pale ale accents the Cascade hops we use,” Selvy said. “This is a great beer for people who are just getting into craft beer as well as seasoned microbrew enthusiasts.”

The brewery will be selling six-packs and kegs of the beer.

Each participating liquor store will have a point-of-purchase display to encourage customers to buy this special limited-edition holiday beer. Participating Holiday Brew liquor stores include Eagle Liquor Mart (Eagle); Village Warehouse Wines (Avon); American Liquors (Breckenridge); Local Liquors (Silverthorne); Hwy 6 Liquors (Gypsum); Dillon Ridge Liquors (Dillon) and Crazy Mountain Tap Room (Edwards).
