Driver sought in after-school Eagle-Vail crash
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado ” A driver who may have caused a chain-reaction collision that sent “two or three” people to the hospital Tuesday is being sought by police, Colorado State Trooper Don Kettle said.
A gray Mitsubishi hatchback, possibly driven by a man with blonde hair, left after he may have crashed into the back of a Honda Accord, which rear-ended a Ford Ranger about 3:40 p.m. on Eagle Road near U.S. Highway 6, Kettle said.
Kettle did not have details on the injuries to the passengers, who were riding in the Ford Ranger, but they were conscious when they were taken to Vail Valley Medical Center, he said.
Kettle did not release the names of the people involved in the crash, which was being investigated Tuesday night.
The crash probably occurred during the “mad rush” of students leaving Battle Mountain High School, Kettle said.
Anyone with information on where the driver of the Mitsubishi is should call 911, Kettle said.
