Driver stopped on way to Sea World

DOTSERO, Colorado – Police arrested a man who was allegedly driving drunk in Dotsero and is possibly in trouble for a domestic dispute in Englewood.
Police saw a Dodge Dakota stop and turn off its lights near the entrance of the Sweetwater Ranch on Highway 6 in Dotsero. When police approached, the driver emerged from behind a tree and said he had stopped to use the bathroom.
Police smelled alcohol on the man. The driver said he was planning to go to Sea World for a day trip but was thinking about going back to Englewood.
Police asked the man how he ended up with an injury on his hand, an the man said he got in a fight with his girlfriend and punched a wall.
When local police contacted the Englewood Police Department, officials there said they had probable cause for a warrant for domestic violence, but were still working on the paperwork for the warrant.
The man also failed a breathalyzer test. The test revealed his blood alcohol content was 0.116, over the 0.08 legal limit. Police gave the man a ticket for drunk driving.
• A graffiti vandal has struck the town water tank on Brush Creek Road. The graffiti was discovered June 18. The town is currently working on cost estimates to repaint the area affected.
• A driver who wanted to take advantage of a break in traffic along U.S. Highway 6 ended up with a ticket and no wheels. On June 21, an Eagle officer saw a pickup truck fail to heed a stop sign at U.S. 6 and Fourth Street. When pulled over, the driver he didn’t stop because he wanted to turn on the highway during a break in traffic. He also admitted his license had been suspended, but said he thought it had been reinstated. It hadn’t. When the officer checked, the license was still suspended for a controlled substance violation. The driver received a ticket and was told to park his car.
