Drug suspects caught after car chase in Eagle County

EAGLE, Colorado –Two Grand Junction men were arrested last week after allegedly selling two ounces of cocaine worth $1,500 to an undercover “operator,” the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The two men tried to flee in a car, but were apprehended after a short pursuit, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.
Matthew Scott Simon, 22, of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Michael Joseph Ybarra, also 22 and from Grand Junction, were both charged with felony distribution of cocaine and felony possession of cocaine, the sheriff’s office said.
Ybarra was additionally charged with felony eluding for the short car chase, the sheriff’s office said.
Both men are being held in the Eagle County Detention Facility on $50,000 bonds.
The undercover drug buy was conducted by the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office with help from the Eagle Police Department.
