EDWARDS, Colorado – Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Across the United States and right here in Eagle County, people will spend the day not only seizing the moment to inspire, equip and mobilize corporations, schools, families and individuals to improve their communities, but also engage them to get involved throughout the year. The Youth Foundation and the Millenium Society are hosting a Dueling Piano event at E-Town in Edwards to celebrate Make A Difference day. This fun, entertaining evening will get everyone out of their seats and requesting their favorite hits as two live performers work together to provide a high-energy show in which the audience is as much a part of the entertainment as is the performers. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Youth Foundation’s PowerHours after-school programs. “Help us to alleviate parents’ stress and enhance opportunities for teachers to gain much needed supplemental income, while at the same time having a great time with your friends at this event,” said Katie Santambrogio, event and marketing director of the Youth Foundation. “Our programs are fun, engaging, and are helping to shape the futures of children in our community and we rely on this community to sustain these programs.” The Youth Foundation’s PowerHours after-school programs serve nearly 1,000 students each year. “It’s not only an after school study skills and tutoring program; students also have an opportunity to better themselves through academic support and a chance to take ownership of their school career,” said Susie Davis, executive director of the Youth Foundation. The event will kick off with drink specials and giveaways at 7 p.m. and the live entertainment will begin at 9 p.m. A donation of $10 is requested at the door.
