Eagle-area firefighters raise muscular dystrophy funds
EAGLE, Colorado – Firefighters in the Eagle-area teamed up on Labor Day with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to “fill the boot.” The community stepped up to the plate for another year to donate money that will be used in the battle against neuromuscular diseases.
Last year, the Greater Eagle Fire Department raised over $10,000. The year prior they raised over $9,000, and this year, with support from the community they raised $11,000.
The proceeds will aid local children and adults affected by neuromuscular diseases by providing wheelchairs, leg braces, clinic visits, support groups, and a chance for children to attend the local Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camp, Rocky Mountain Village Easter Seals camp in Empire, Colo. Each year over 100 children attended camp.
