Eagle bowling alley offers free games
Eagle, CO Colorado
EAGLE – As part of its celebration of National Bowling Week, the Back Bowl in Eagle will be offering a free game of Bowling for every paid game Saturday.
National Bowling Week is an annual, weeklong celebration of one of America’s oldest sports, having been introduced to the colonies by English, Dutch, and German settlers, who all brought their own versions of the game to the New World. Since then, bowling has established itself as one of the U.S.’s most popular family and group activities.
As part of this year’s celebration, Vail Valley residents are invited to join the Back Bowl Saturday, along with nearly 1,000 other bowling centers across the U.S., in an attempt to break the Guiness World Record for “most games bowled in a single day.” The current record set last year, stands at 548,000 games.
According to Doug Cahill, manager of the Back Bowl, the bowling record attempt is a great chance to take advantage of their National Bowling Week promotion.
“The entire industry loves the idea of encouraging people to get together across the country to set the new record,” Cahill said. “The fact that we’re giving away free games should be good incentive to come out and help us in our effort.”
Cahill adds that National Bowling Week has been one of the most successful promotions over the years to expose new people to the sport of bowling and has been a large part of the sport’s growth over the past decade.
The Back Bowl is located in Eagle behind the Eagle Diner. For more information on National Bowling Week and the free game promotion, call The Back Bowl at 970-328-BOWL.
