Eagle Co. state house candidates debate children’s issues

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Candidates for Eagle County’s seat in the state House of Representatives will discuss education, health, welfare and other children’s issues at a forum at the Starbuck’s in Eagle Ranch from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday.

Democratic incumbent Rep. Christine Scanlan is running against Republican Beaver Creek resident Ali Hasan in the House District 56 race. The event is being sponsored by the Colorado Children’s Campaign, Every Child Matters and Great Education Colorado.

“This is an opportunity for voters to learn more about where candidates stand on issues that impact not only our children, but the future of our state,” said Megan Ferland, President of the Colorado Children’s Campaign, a statewide, nonpartisan advocacy organization.
