Inch of Dark will perform at Loaded Joe’s in Avon Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.

Grasping roots from some of rock music’s best eras, Inch of Dark takes it them and spits them back in your face with modern-rock flair.-

Tonight’s show is the band’s official CD-release show. Copies of the band’s debut EP, “Chapter No. 1,” will be available for purchase. The EP was recorded in June at Evergroove Studios in Evergreen by engineer-owner Brad Smalling. The show will mark a full-circle completion to the whole project.

“Last April, we played Loaded Joe’s and put it up to the fans on what songs we should record by handing out ballots and having them vote,” said Jerome Chwalek, the band’s lead singer and lead guitarist. “We tallied the votes and recorded the four highest-voted songs.”

This release show should have happened sooner, but it was a tough summer for the band, Chwalek said. Guitarist Chad MacKenzie had to have surgery on his wrist, which brought everything to a halt, and a month later, Chwalek had surgery on his elbow.

“In November, we started performing again and have had multiple shows, mainly focusing on the Denver area,” Chwalek said.

“This will also-be Inch of Dark’s last show for two to three months, unfortunately, due to some complications.

Chwalek has to have another surgery on his elbow, and the band will take a break during his recovery.
