Eagle County bus riders get ‘transfer pass’

Board: Eagle County Commissioners, Dec. 6 work session.

Present: Sara Fisher, Jon Stavney, Peter Runyon.

Who they talked to: Kelly Collier of ECO Transit.

What they talked about: Collier told the commissioners about a new “tranfer pass” for passengers that will be available Jan. 1.

The new pass will charge riders $1 to change buses if they need to ride two buses to get where they’re going, instead of paying for two $4 rides. The pass will be valid for 35 minutes to allow passengers to change buses.

While rolling out the new pass, Collier said it will be probably be used by a very few passengers. ECO has an $8 one-day pass that gives people unlimited rides for 24 hours. Unless someone is taking one trip that requires two buses, the daily pass is a better deal, Collier said.
