Eagle County: Business donated to abuse survivors
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Last year, a business, Mountain Flower Candles, was donated to the Bright Future Foundation, a group that helps survivors of domestic violence. The first business meeting of survivors and volunteers is Monday.
“At the time I started Mountain Flower Candles, I also began a master’s program and my counseling practice. Making candles was my escape and therapy from dealing with my studies and others’ issues,” said Cathy Zeeb founder of Mountain Flower Candles. “I was able to know that when I was making candles, I was bringing light into other people’s lives,”
The Bright Future Foundation changed the business’ name to Light of Hope. The company will be managed by survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and the profits will be given to the women to help them support themselves. The business’s goal also is to give women skills in business, leadership and financial management.
Also next week, Mount-N-Frames is holding a benefit and art show for the Bright Future Foundation. Kids in Buddy Mentors Program have designed new logos for Light Hope. The new logo will be chosen between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., April 19.
