Eagle County businesses join book drive

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – To commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Serve Colorado-Governor’s Commission on Community Service, AmeriCorps organizations and AARP Colorado have joined forces to lead the AmeriCorps Colorado Literacy Matters Book Drive in communities throughout the state. Businesses in Eagle County are joining the statewide initiative to address early literacy by serving as designated drop off locations during the long weekend.
To participate in the book drive, please bring your gently used or new books for children grades K-12 to the following drop off locations:
• City Market, 72 Beaver Creek Place, Avon, 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Saturday through Monday.
• City Market, 2109 N. Frontage Road W, Vail, 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Saturday through Monday,
• Eagle River Youth Coalition offices, 37347 Highway 6, Suite 202, Avon, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday and Tuesday.
• The Bookworm, Riverwalk, Edwards, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday.
Donations will support youth served by organizations throughout the state, including Boy and Girls Clubs.
