EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” A new group of children’s advocates were recently sworn-in to help juveniles involved in neglect cases.

Robert Crawford, Zurette Glickman, Steven Sullivan, Frank Hofmeister, Rebecca Losh, and Dorothy Yundt recently completed training with Court Appointed Special Advocates of the Continental Divide.

In fiscal year 2007-08, the organization served 107 children, up from 83 the previous year. The advocate’s role is to determine the needs of child who are involved in court cases.

Every volunteer must complete 30 hours of training and court room observation. After being sworn in, a volunteer devotes about 10 to 20 hours a month on a particular case, for approximately six to 18 months.
