Eagle County couple’s home ransacked
Eagle County, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado –Police are investigating a house burglary that was reported Dec. 11.
An Eagle County couple left their home unlocked for about five hours and returned to find the residence had been ransacked. Among the stolen items were three laptop computers, a television, iPod, jewelry and an extensive amount of wood working equipment. Rummaged drawers were left open all over the house but $500 cash was left on top of a desk where a computer was taken.
The only clues at the scene were a set of muddy tire tracks and a large footprint in the snow.
The couple told police that in the previous month two young females in a white SUV had driven down the driveway, looking in windows, on two occasions.
The husband owns his own business and had fired a disgruntled employee earlier in the year. However, he did not believe that man was the culprit. He did suspect someone from a nearby construction site might be to blame because of the dirty tire tracks.
