Eagle County department will raise fees for services

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – The Eagle County Environmental Health Department will increase and codify its service fee schedule effective Jan. 3. The changes will affect on-site wastewater fees, special event food services and child care facilities.

“Most fees have remained unchanged for over 10 years, and no longer accurately represent the cost of providing these services,” environmental health director Ray Merry said. “Based on methodology accepted statewide for determining the cost of services provided, we’re implementing an increase in fees so that we may continue to provide the same exemplary level of service our customers have come to expect.”

The Environmental Health department monitors environmental indicators; conducts the retail food service inspection program for Eagle County; issues permits for and inspects on-site wastewater treatment systems; and administers the code enforcement program. Most fees are flat-rate charges. To view the new fee schedule, call 970-328-8755 or go to http://www.eaglecounty.us
