Eagle County extension office to hold canning and preserving class

EAGLE – The Eagle office of Colorado State University Cooperative Extension will hold a class, “Yes You Can, The Basics of Safe Home Food Preservation,” Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Garden Level Classroom located at the Eagle County Building, 500 Broadway in Eagle.
Participants will learn what types of food are appropriate for canning and a variety of food preservation methods. Cost is $10 and includes the 100th anniversary edition of the “Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving.”
“With the interest in the local food movement, we want to make sure that people know how to preserve their food safely,” said Glenda Wentworth, director of the Eagle CSU Extension Office.
