Eagle County Facilities Management wins national achievement award
EAGLE COUNTY – The National Association of Counties (NACo) has selected the Eagle County Skate Park in Edwards as a 2006 NACo Achievement Award winner.
The Facilities Management Department was recognized for its leadership in the successful community partnership that has made the skate park a success.
The collaboration of Eagle County, area metro districts, Greater Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and a host of other important partners made the Eagle County Skate Park a model of how well government entities can work together to build a valuable community asset.
The 26-thousand square foot facility features elements for beginner through advanced skaters, and the entire Freedom Park complex provides residents with a safe, family-oriented park with many recreational choices.
The NACo Achievement Award program recognizes counties for creative and innovative program development and implementation, efficient administrative management of county agencies and responsible government to local citizens.
This year’s winners represent 27 states and 95 counties.
