EAGLE COUNTY — Eagle County Animal Shelter & Services has launched a new system for dog licensing. Community members can visit http://www.eaglecounty.us/Animal/Animal_Control/Animal_Licensing to access the web-based system or to print and mail an application.

“We’ve contracted with PetData to develop an online registration and payment option that helps streamline the licensing process and maintain an accurate database of dogs in the county,” said Nathan Lehnert, animal services field manager. ”In addition, the new system allows longer licensing periods that coincide with a dog’s rabies vaccination.”

Dog licensing is required by law. The process allows Eagle County Animal Services to identify and return lost dogs before impounding them, and helps track rabies vaccinations to ensure a rabies-resistant community.

For more information, go to the website or call Lehnert, 970-328-3647.
