Eagle County man acquitted in sex assault case
EAGLE, Colorado – A jury acquitted an Eagle County man Thursday of sexually assaulting a child.
The jury found Owen Moore not guilty of sexual assault on a child. The trial began Monday.
The allegations stem from a pair of 2009 incidents.
“Mr. Moore was innocent. The system worked,” said Burt Levin, his attorney.
The trial included testimony by Moore, his ex-wife, expert witnesses and the child, who was 3 years old when the accusations were originally made.

“We’re disappointed,” District Attorney Mark Hurlbert said after he learned of the acquittal. “Sexual assault against a child is tough. In this case we had to put a 4-year-old on the stand.”
“We respect the jury and the job they did,” Hurlbert said.
