Eagle County manager ‘departs’

EAGLE, Colorado ” Bruce Baumgartner, Eagle County, Colorado county manager, has left his position, effective immediately, the Board of Commissioner said Friday.
Baumgartner has been the county manager since October 2005.
“Bruce helped the county through a time of great transition and we appreciate his leadership over the last three years,” said Commissioner Peter Runyon. “It is always difficult going through change, but rest assured the county will continue to provide the exemplary services our community has grown to expect.”
“We sincerely thank Bruce for all the work he has done to strengthen the organization,” said Commissioner Sara Fisher. “He has built an extraordinarily talented staff and is leaving the county a better place. We wish him all the best.”
The county will begin the search for a new manager after the new year. In the interim, the commissioners have designated Community Development Director Keith Montag as acting county manager.
