Eagle County may have two ballot questions
July 26, 2010
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – In anticipation of the Nov. 2 general election, notice has been provided to the Eagle County Clerk indicating the Board of County Commissioners may place two questions on the ballot.
One potential ballot question would address medical marijuana businesses in Eagle County. The second would ask voters to weigh in on whether to increase commissioner term limits from two, four-year terms to three terms.
Staff from the Eagle County Attorney’s Office is currently researching commissioner term limits in other Colorado counties. A public meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Aug. 2 to present the information and gather citizen input. Those unable to attend may send comments in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org. The meeting will be aired live on ecotv18 and at http://www.eaglecounty.us.
A public input session on the commercial aspect of medical marijuana took place earlier this month.
Resolutions including specific ballot language will need to be adopted by the board during a public meeting no later than Sept. 3. For more information, call Bryan Treu at 970-328-8685.
