Eagle County School District recognized for financial excellence
Eagle County School District has received the award every year since 2015
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Eagle County School District for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2021.
The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the district. Eagle County School District has received the award every year since 2015, making this year’s recognition the eighth year in a row it has been honored.
“Financial transparency has always been held as a top priority for Eagle County School District,” said Superintendent Phil Qualman. “Year after year, our Chief Operating Officer Sandy Farrell and her finance team demonstrate excellence in their financial reporting. This recognition from the GFOA is another feather in their cap and we are proud to boast of their accomplishments.”
Government Finance Officers Association provided best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for more than 21,000 government members and the communities they serve.
