Eagle County Schools hire human resources director

EAGLE, Colorado – Brian Childress has been named the director of human resources for the Eagle County School District.
Childress has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of California at Davis, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Northern Colorado.
“We are thrilled that Dr. Childress has accepted the position as director of human resources for Eagle County Schools,” Superintendent Sandra Smyser said. “He brings an impressive background and the skillset necessary to continue to move our district in the right direction.”
Aside from his educational endeavors, Childress boasts an extensive professional track record. For the past six years, he served as principal at Longmont Estates Elementary School in St. Vrain Valley School District. Prior to that, he has worked as assistant principal at Sunset Middle School in Longmont, social studies teacher and gifted and talented teacher at Sunset Middle School in Longmont, English language learner teacher and history teacher at the old Battle Mountain High School in Eagle-Vail and Colorado State Representative to the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
The district conducted a national search for job candidates.
Childress starts work Nov. 15.
