Eagle County Schools receive recruitment and retention grant
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado – In an effort to continue building upon the district’s efforts of maintaining the top teacher and principal talent in the county, Eagle County Schools has announced it was awarded the third round of a recruitment and retention grant funded by the Colorado Department of Education.
Over the past nine years, Eagle County Schools has spent a significant amount of time, energy and resources on improving the professional development of teachers. These efforts include coaching and mentoring, strategic compensation and incentives for rewarding highly effective teachers.
In order to continue to build upon these efforts and perhaps shift the focus from teachers to leadership in the building, Eagle County Schools went after the third round of a recruitment and retention grant, proposing an initiative that will provide:
• Definition of success among principal leaders.
• Development of specific skill sets to enhance leader effectiveness.
• Measurement of principal growth and success over time.
