Eagle County Schools seek help with tech vision
EAGLE, Colorado – Kathy Ferrel, Eagle County Schools’ director of educational technology, is trying to develop a more concrete vision of technology in the district, and she wants the community’s help in doing so.
Ferrel is looking to assemble and lead a Technology Advisory Committee comprised of 12-15 individuals who are interested in determining innovative and visionary uses of technology in Eagle County Schools. These applications include, but are not limited to, web 2.0, hand-held devices ( such as iPads and smartphones), e-mail systems, YouTube, smart boards, geographical information systems and educational programs.
“The TAC will entertain thoughtful conversations around the current and future use of technology applications and be asked to help direct policies and procedures for technology use in schools and throughout the district,” Ferrel said. “Committee members will discuss how people are using these systems in other industries and how can we apply it to the world of education,” states Ferrel.-
Members will be asked to give a two-year commitment, and monthly meetings will be held up- and downvalley. Community members from a variety of backgrounds and industries, teachers, administrators and students (no seniors, as the two-year commitment will be upheld) are all welcome to apply. Some technological background is helpful.-
