Eagle County seeks members for animal services committee; applications due Aug. 10
EAGLE COUNTY — The Eagle County Board of Commissioners is seeking community members to serve on the Animal Services Advisory Committee. The group provides input on policies and priorities regarding animal sheltering and services.
Applications are available at http://www.eaglecounty.us/animal and are due by Friday, Aug. 10. Interviews with the commissioners will take place during the week of Monday, Aug. 13.
The Animal Services Advisory Committee is composed of nine members with expertise and interest in animal care and welfare. Focus areas include the physical and behavioral health of animals; housing and transport of animals; spaying, neutering and population management; facility improvements; public health; and consideration of other topics, as needed. The committee does not have any management responsibilities, nor does it direct staff.

In Eagle County, the most commonly reported dead bird has been the Wilson’s warbler, which is yellow. Dead yellow-rumped warblers have also been a common sight.
