EAGLE, Colorado ” They have nimble fingers and big hearts.

The seniors of the Golden Eagle Community Center Crochet Club will were honored Thursday for their contribution to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office Victim’s Services Unit.

The men and women of the club have crocheted 20 colorful, homemade blankets that are donated to the Sheriff’s Office. Law officers and victim’s advocates use the blankets when responding to accidents or crimes.

“A warm blanket is very welcome to somebody left out standing in the snow after a car accident or a fire,” says Deena Ezzell, victim services coordinator.

The blankets are shared with every law enforcement agency in the county.
