Eagle County to conduct mail ballot election

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado -Election Day 2010 is Nov. 3 and Eagle County will conduct a mail ballot election this year. Voters are encouraged to verify their place of residence and mailing address with the Eagle County Clerk & Recorder’s Office to ensure delivery of a ballot. New voters have until Oct. 5 to register. Address verification and voter registration forms can be found online at http://www.eaglecounty.us/clerk or can be obtained by calling 328-8715. Ballots are scheduled to be mailed to all active voters on approximately Oct. 13 and will be due back no later than 7 p.m. Nov. 3. Those who do not receive their ballot should contact the Clerk & Recorder’s Office at 970-328-8715 prior to Oct. 27 to have a ballot mailed. Registered electors also have the option of picking up a replacement ballot at either the Eagle or El Jebel Clerks’ Office through Nov. 3.Citizens who wish to receive their ballot at an address other than their voting address of record must submit a mail ballot application, formerly known as absentee ballot application, no later than Oct. 27. Applications are available at http://www.eaglecounty.us/clerk or by calling 970-328-8715.This year’s ballot will include school board races for the Eagle County School District. Eagle County will ask for bonding authority to make loans to homeowners who want to make energy efficient upgrades. Sample ballots will be available on or before Oct. 1 at http://www.eaglecounty.us/clerk. All voters can request permanent mail ballot status. When this option is selected by the voter, a ballot will automatically be mailed to the address of record for all subsequent elections for which the voter is eligible to vote.
