Eagle County toy drive extended to Friday

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – The Salvation Army and the Vail Valley Medical Center are collecting the toys during the month of September. The drive has been extended one more week, until Friday, to give everyone a chance to participate.

All of the toys collected will be placed in the Santa Work Shop, which will be opened Dec. 10 and 11 at a school gymnasium. Each family will be given two tickets for each child. Each ticket will be good for one toy.

As many as 400 families may be eligible to participate in the program. If each family has three children getting two toys apiece, you come up with a need for a minimum of 2,400 toys.

Toys can be dropped off during working hours at the following locations:

• Vail Valley Medical Center.
