Eagle: Family Fun Night to benefit adoption

EAGLE, Colorado “-A Gypsum couple in the process of adopting five Peruvian orphans are the beneficiaries of Friends and Family Fun Night, scheduled for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 7 at the Eagle River Events Center on Fairgrounds Road in Eagle, Colorado.

There will be a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, a bouncy castle and arts and crafts for kids, and live bluegrass music. Volunteers are needed and anyone who is interested can send an e-mail to mylissa22@yahoo.com with a name and phone number.

The couple, Joel and Robyn Hanson, have already raised a good portion of the funds needed. Longtime residents of the county, Joel is a UPS driver and worship leader for First Lutheran Church of Gypsum, while Robyn has been a teacher in the Eagle County School District and the church’s youth group leader.



The Hansons spent a year at the Hogar de Esperanza orphanage in Trujillo, Peru, and decided to adopt five brothers and sisters. Robyn Hanson is now the U.S. administrator for the orphanage, which is an inter-denominational Christian ministry.
