Eagle: Gardening questions answer overed gourmet lunch

Special to the Vail DailyThe Brush Creek Park Community Gardens is sponsoring a talk on High Country gardening on Saturday

EAGLE COUNTY “-Gardening in the Eagle County High Country can be tricky ” early frosts, late frosts, high winds, spotty rainfall, hungry critters and bugs… we’ve all been there. What’s a gardener to do?

How about attending a gourmet lunch and a seminar on organic gardening? Sounds about right to me. The seminar will be top notch: the speaker is Brook LeVan, director of Sustainable Settings from Carbondale.

This gentleman knows his stuff. The gourmet nature of the meal, meanwhile, is partially in your control because you can bring your favorite dish to share.

The topics include biological pest control, composting, organic techniques and crop selection. If you have a specific gardening question or problem, this is probably a good place to find an answer or solution.

The seminar is sponsored by Colorado State University Extension in Eagle County and Brush Creek Park Community Gardens.
