EAGLE, Colorado ” Students at Brush Creek Elementary School in Eagle, Colorado Tuesday celebrated Veteran’s Day by singing patriotic songs and learning about military service.

Students submitted veterans’ names, which were written on a candle and placed on a giant flag in the school’s gymnasium.

Several veterans attended the ceremony and Amy Van Goey, parent of a Brush Creek student and veteran of the Marine Corps who served in Desert Storm, spoke to the kids and taught them the Marine cheer: “ooo rah!”

Music teacher Liane Gulizia organized the ceremony.
