Eagle man convicted of peeping under stall

EAGLE, Colorado ” A jury has found a man guilty of looking under a bar bathroom stall at a woman’s private parts, the Eagle County District Attorney’s Office said.

Jeremy Ray Smith, 20, of Eagle, was convicted by six jurors of unlawful sexual contact and trespassing June 19, the D.A.’s office said.

Smith trespassed when he went into the Brush Creek Saloon Aug. 28 and hid in the women’s restroom. A woman came in and went to the bathroom as Smith peeked under the stall and saw her private parts, the D.A.’s office said.

Smith faces up to two years in jail and up to $5,000 in fines, the D.A.’s office said. He is scheduled to be sentenced July 15.

Judge Katharine Sullivan presided over the trial, which lasted one day. Assistant District Attorney Karen Romeo and Deputy District Attorney Braden Angel prosecuted the case.
