Eagle: Man fires while drunk

EAGLE, Colorado ” A deputy was dispatched to Brush Creek Road when someone called 911 but hung up, Aug. 30. En route, the deputy received a report of shots fired.

A neighbor told the deputy that a man who lives across a dirt driveway from him had been drinking all day, got into a fight with a family member and fired a gun in the air. The accused told police he had shot his gun because his sister had the weapon.

When the sister arrived, she told the deputy that a family member had called her to tell her that her brother was intoxicated and shooting a gun, so she drove to the house and took the gun away.

The suspect was arrested and charged with prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

GYPSUM ” A gathering of two men and two women on Sept. 3 at the Mountain Glen Apartments in Gypsum went awry after one of the men began yelling at the women.

When one of the women told the man to leave the apartment, the second man ” her husband ” pushed and choked her. After letting go of her neck, he hit her in the face.

The husband was charged with domestic violence, and third degree assault.

EAGLE ” Vandals armed with a black marker scrawled graffiti at the restrooms at the Eagle Information Center. The graffiti included some obscenities, and some phrases that were not familiar to the local cops. Damage was estimated at $100.

GYPSUM ” On Sept. 2, a deputy on patrol near the Dotsero mobile home park he noticed new graffiti on three of Colorado Department of Transportation storage tanks.

The estimated cost of damage is $100. There are no suspects.
