Eagle: Marching along, Under the Sea

EAGLE, Colorado –Flight Days, Eagle’s signature summer celebration, starts next week and it’s time to get to work on parade entries.

Eagle Flight Days gets under way at 4 p.m., June 25 and continues through June 27. The Flight Days parade is scheduled at 10 a.m. on June 26.

This year’s theme is “Under the Sea” and local community groups, businesses and others are urged to get their creative juices flowing to participate. Prizes are awarded for the best float, automobile, kids group entry and equestrian entry in addition to an overall winner and runner up. The registration fee for parade entries is $10.



The parade lines up around Eagle Town Park beginning on Fifth Street, wrapping around the park at Washington Street and then onto Sixth Street. Lineup begins at 9 a.m. and judging begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. The parade will march down Broadway beginning at 10 a.m.

This year’s parade promises to be a great one with a special appearance by the 25-member Fort Carson Army Band. The band will march in the parade and then perform a special concert at Eagle Town Park at 11 a.m.
