Eagle parties for the planet April 19

EAGLE, Colorado ” A special Earth Day celebration is slated for downtown Eagle on April 19.

The “Party for the Planet” begins in the morning, when 220 chokecherry, willow, and cottonwood seedlings will be planted in the town’s open space.

To participate call Carol at 827-9725, ext. 13.

At noon, the party will start on Broadway with food and live music. The goal of the party is to reduce waste.

Participants can get into the spirit of Earth Day, and reduce their carbon foot prints with several tactics:

– Carpool, ride a bike, bus, walk or skateboard to downtown Eagle.

– Bring your own reusable dishes, utensils, and cups for food and drinks.

– Bring reusable bags for toting stuff back home.

The winner of the Eagle County Earth Day Contest will be announced in the afternoon.

New Shoes will provide the music from noon to 1:30 p.m. The Methods will take the stage from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
