Eagle parties for the planet Saturday

EAGLE, Colorado Eagle, Colorado will party locally, while thinking global, this Saturday.The second annual Party for the Planet, an Earth Day celebration complete with music, food, activities, and 30 information booths will entertain and educate Eagle Valley residents. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend the event in downtown Eagle.The party will begin with tree planting along Brush Creek at 9:30 a.m. The party will then make its way to downtown Eagle where information booths will showcase environmentally friendly improvements to local businesses, and people will enjoy parades and other activities. Live music by Hardscrabble and Little Hercules will set the tone of the event and there will be food vender and a beer garden. Party for the Planet on Broadway incorporates a Kids Zone with a skate park, games and races, a beer garden located in the stage area, hosting bands, giveaways and winners of the Eagle County poster contest, a Retro-Grade Parade while educational vendors showcase the ideas, practices, products and solutions that bring sustainability to our everyday lives. Party for the planet tips: Carpool, ride your bike, take the ECO Transit bus, walk or skateboard your way to downtown Eagle. Bring your own reusable flatware, utensils and cups for food and beverage purchases Bring your own reusable bag for any fun Party purchases or to carry your take home goodies! Or purchase Chico Bags and reusable water bottles at the KZYR and Eagle Valley Alliance booths at the Party. Volunteers are still needed to help set up and run the party.
