Eagle River Meadows has another hearing Tuesday
EAGLE, Colorado – The Eagle County commissioners will hold another hearing about the proposed Eagle River Meadows development at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Eagle. The proposal, by the Atira Group, calls for housing and a medical campus at the site of the former B&B Excavating gravel mine in Edwards. The proposal covers more than 100 acres on both sides of the Eagle River. The developers are seeking “sketch plan” approval for the development, the first of three approvals needed before construction can begin.Perhaps the biggest issue the developers and the commissioners are tackling is whether or not to build homes on the north side of the river. That proposal would include a bridge to the north side of the river, giving residents of the Lake Creek Village apartments and Brett Ranch Villas townhomes another way to get to and from their homes.Several residents have objected to that part of the plan. At least one commissioner – Jon Stavney – seems ready to pass the plan up to the next level, while Commissioner Peter Runyon opposes any building on the north side. At an October meeting, Commissioner Sara Fisher said she was worried about the overall size of the project, including housing on the north side.
