Eagle River Preserve open for summer

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado – The Eagle River Preserve is now open to vehicles daily from dawn to dusk, following a winter closure to allow for wildlife habitat. County officials are offering a few reminders to ensure enjoyment of the property by all users:

• Stay on established paths. The vegetation is still young and developing. Be especially mindful of sensitive vegetation along the riverbank.-

• Dogs should be kept on a leash, except within the designated off-leash dog area.

• Pack out personal trash and any litter found. Trash containers are provided at the parking area.

• Review posted signs and rules.

The Eagle River Preserve includes about 72 acres just west of the main intersection in Edwards. Current amenities include a walking trail, benches, an off-leash dog area, access to the Eagle River for fishing, and a small pond. The entire former gravel pit will be available for public access once all phases of the restoration are complete.
